We Don’t Speak German…Let’s Go To Berlin!

Mark's Updates
The flight to Berlin left at 6:30 in the morning so Katherine missed her class Friday morning. This normally wouldn’t be a big deal – ‘Starting A Small Business in Ireland’ requires only a portion of a brain – but Friday they were deciding when to take the final exam. It will all be sorted out in the end, meanwhile we were in a different country touring its capital, Berlin.
You can see most of our pictures in the other posts, here I’ll just give you some of our impressions of the city:
- As soon as we arrived we noticed how quiet it is. Even along the streets, everything’s just quieter.
- Bratwurst in Berlin is excellent
- There are museums everywhere
- I thought a lot of people spoke English, Katherine didn’t think that was the case
- The S-Bahn (overground public transport) is really slow
- There aren’t easy-to-find tourist shops like in London, Paris, and Dublin
The pictures below didn’t fit into any other category.

Oh, you ran into a Trabbi! One of the students from Mannheim actually drove one of those . . . they’re actually made of something resembling paper.
