Coldstone Can’t Even Compete
My roommate Nate spent a semester in Florence last year and told me how wonderful Italian gelato is. I was more than ready to try some and, fortunately, there were gelato stands waiting for us as soon as we got off the train. After we put our bags away we got some white chocolate gelato; it was excellent. I thought of Coldstone ice cream as soon as I tasted it, but this stuff was something more. It’s creamier, and smoother, and better.
We started walking the streets of Venice and noticed that gelato is pretty cheap. Even in the really touristy areas the vendors don’t jack up the prices as much as they could. Actually, everything in Venice (except Murano glass) was pretty cheap. Anyway, we used our next two 2-Euro coins to get some cookies n’ cream gelato and mint chocolate gelato.
Before we left Sunday morning we got some more, sort of like a breakfast-dessert.
