Even with all the rain in Ireland they manage to somehow survive! Just yesterday we stumbled upon another 20 or 30 baby spiders crawling around inside my window. A visit to the village reception didn’t do any good, as no bug spray was to be found there. They instead asked “if there were any guys around”, in case I was scared to do the squishing myself. One of my housemates had a bottle of surface cleaner (it claimed to kill bacteria and viruses…maybe spiders too?) so I used that, along with a flip-flop and paper towels to stop the infestation. I also tried to ward off a few larger spiders outside my window with surface cleaner (while trying to avoid spraying students walking below), but that did little good. It looks like the battle between them and I will continue….

Simply put, they are everywhere!
